
Assistant Director
of Public Relations / Web coordinator
Southern Wesleyan University, a distinctively Christian undergraduate and graduate institution of 2,700 students, is seeking an experienced and qualified candidate for the position of Assistant Director of Public Relations. Reporting to the Director of Public Relations, this position is responsible for overseeing the university’s web site, contributing writing and photography to university publications, gathering information and writing copy for print and online material, using computerized graphic design to create promotional materials, taking photographs of university events and contributing to all phases of the university’s public relations program.
The successful candidate must articulate the university’s vision of excellence and be accountable for the implementation of initiatives necessary to fulfill the university’s mission and vision for communications at the university.
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of experience related to the development and dissemination of promotional material. A degree in journalism, marketing or a related field and five years of experience is preferred. This position requires working a flexible schedule to attend university events and meet project deadlines.
